Host Stipend Payment Schedule

At StudentRoomStay, we are committed to providing our hosts with clear and timely payments. Below is an overview of our stipend payment schedule and key details to help you understand when and how you’ll be paid.

Weekly Payment Schedule

Host stipends are processed on a weekly basis, with payments issued by Tuesday of each week for the prior full week of hosting.

  • The hosting week runs from Friday night through Friday morning (i.e., 7 nights maximum).
  • Payments are made for up to 7 nights at a time, based on the number of nights a student stayed in your home during that period.

Example:

If today is Tuesday, August 12, the payment will cover the period from the night of Friday, August 1 through the morning of Friday, August 8.

  • If a student arrived mid-week—say on Monday, August 4—you would be paid for the nights of August 4 through August 8 only (4 nights).
  • You will not be paid in advance; payments reflect actual nights stayed in the prior Friday-to-Friday week.

Payment Delivery

  • Payments are typically sent via direct deposit or your selected payment method by end of day Tuesday. Actual processing time is dependent on your bank.
  • If a holiday or bank delay occurs, the payment may arrive slightly later.

Tax Reporting

  • StudentRoomStay will issue a Form 1099-NEC each January for hosts who meet the IRS reporting threshold.
