StudentRoomStay Homestay (SRS Homestay) prohibits sexual abuse of any student under the care or supervision of SRS Homestay. Signs of abuse may include:

Physical indicators:

Behavioral indicators:

  • Avoidance of certain individuals
  • Nightmares or fear of nighttime
  • Discomfort discussing sex

Mandatory Reporting

All individuals affiliated with SRS Homestay are required to report any suspected or known abuse immediately:

  • Hosts: Report to SRS Homestay Support Staff
  • Support Staff: Report to the Operations Manager
  • Operations Manager: Report to Human Resources

For minors, SRS will also notify the student’s education provider and local law enforcement, per state laws. For adults, SRS will assist in contacting police if requested.

If the normal reporting path is not possible or the accused is a supervisor, reports must be made directly to a higher-level manager or emailed to support@studentroomstay.com.

Protective Actions

  • If the accused is a host family member, the student will be removed immediately and placed in alternate housing.
  • SRS will notify the student’s natural family, local authorities, and insurance carrier.
  • SRS will cooperate fully with law enforcement and/or third-party investigations.

Investigation & Follow-Up

  • All reports are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly.
  • The alleged perpetrator may be suspended or reassigned during the investigation.
  • Counseling and medical services will be arranged and monitored as needed.
  • If the report is substantiated, the individual will be permanently removed from SRS Homestay.

Confidentiality

Every effort will be made to protect the identity of the victim and others involved. Information will be shared only on a need-to-know basis and as required by law.

No Retaliation

SRS strictly prohibits retaliation against any individual who reports a concern in good faith. Any retaliation will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
