SRS Homestay Placement Agreement – Under 18

Applies to all students under 18 years of age participating in the StudentRoomStay Homestay Program

1. Purpose

This agreement outlines the terms, expectations, and responsibilities for students under the age of 18 participating in a homestay arranged through StudentRoomStay (SRS). It must be reviewed and signed by both the student and a parent or legal guardian.

3. Host Family Responsibilities

Students placed under the Guardian Package will receive:

  • A private furnished bedroom with a bed, desk, storage, and window
  • Three meals per day, including:
    • Breakfast (self-serve or hot)
    • School lunch (packed or purchased with supplies provided)
    • Dinner (home-cooked)
  • Support with transportation to and from school if included in the placement
  • Supervision by an adult at all times while in the home
  • Integration into family life, including household routines, local customs, and basic emotional support

4. Student Responsibilities

Students agree to:

  • Follow the Student Code of Conduct, SRS rules, and household expectations
  • Keep their bedroom and personal areas clean
  • Notify SRS and host family of any problems, illness, or schedule changes
  • Treat all members of the household with respect
  • Avoid inappropriate relationships, dishonesty, or unsafe behavior
  • Comply with host family rules regarding phone usage, curfews, screen time, and schoolwork
  • Participate in required monthly check-ins with the SRS Support Team

5. Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

Parents or guardians agree to:

  • Support the host family in setting appropriate rules and boundaries
  • Remain responsive to SRS and host communications
  • Provide accurate emergency contact information
  • Review monthly SRS updates and student progress reports
  • Coordinate international flights with SRS before booking travel
  • Arrange airport transportation if not included in the homestay package

6. Travel & Absences

  • All travel plans outside of school breaks must be approved in advance by SRS
  • Overnight trips, solo travel, or early departures require written permission from a parent or legal guardian
  • The student must never be left overnight without a responsible adult in the home
  • Unauthorized travel may result in disciplinary action or removal from the program

7. Medical Consent & Emergency Release

By signing this agreement, the parent or legal guardian authorizes:

  • The host family and SRS staff to seek emergency medical care for the student as needed
  • Medical professionals to administer treatment or perform procedures deemed necessary for the student’s health and safety
  • SRS to disclose the student’s health information to the host family, medical providers, and emergency contacts if needed

Parents/guardians agree to reimburse any medical costs not covered by insurance.


8. Student Removal or Relocation

SRS reserves the right to remove a student from a placement if:

  • Program rules, household expectations, or local laws are violated
  • The host family requests a move due to serious conflict or incompatibility
  • A safety concern, behavioral issue, or medical need arises

While SRS will attempt to relocate the student, alternative housing is not guaranteed in cases of severe misconduct.


9. Acknowledgement

By signing below, the student and parent/guardian confirm:

  • They have reviewed and agree to all terms of this agreement
  • They understand the responsibilities, behavior expectations, and emergency procedures
  • They accept that failure to comply may result in disciplinary action or removal from the program
