SRS Host Placement Agreement – Under 18

For Hosts assigned to students under age 18

1. Purpose

This Placement Agreement outlines the responsibilities, requirements, and stipend terms for hosting a student under the age of 18 in your home through the StudentRoomStay Homestay (“SRS Homestay”) program. This agreement supplements the Host Listing Agreement, which remains in full effect.


2. Placement Details

3. Host Responsibilities (Minors)

As the host of a student under age 18, you agree to:

Supervision & Guardianship

  • Provide 24/7 supervision or ensure a vetted adult (with background check) is present at all times.
  • Never leave the student overnight unsupervised.
  • Inform SRS in advance if you will be away and require a temporary homestay arrangement.
  • Ensure the student has internal access to the home (e.g. key, code, or remote entry).

Transportation

  • Provide transportation to and from school and school-related activities, as required by the placement.
  • Provide airport pickup and drop-off at the beginning and end of the student’s stay, and for any holiday travel as applicable.
  • Ensure the student does not travel alone via public transit late at night.

Meals

  • Provide 3 proper meals per day:
    • Breakfast: Self-serve options available daily
    • Lunch: Provide supplies for packed lunches or assist as needed
    • Dinner: Hot, home-cooked meal each night
  • Accommodate reasonable dietary preferences and ensure snacks and clean drinking water are available.

School & Communication

  • Notify the school and SRS of any absences or tardiness.
  • Monitor school attendance and academic engagement.
  • Maintain open communication with SRS and respond within 24 hours.
  • Submit monthly check-in reports to SRS during the student’s stay.
  • Immediately report any concerns, incidents, or violations of the Student Code of Conduct.

Behavior & Safety

  • Enforce age-appropriate house rules and reinforce the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Prevent access to alcohol, tobacco, and controlled substances.
  • Report any allegations of child abuse or misconduct immediately.
  • Ensure students are not alone behind closed doors with peers of the opposite sex.
  • Do not co-sign, lend, or accept money from students or their families.

4. Compensation

SRS will pay the host a stipend of $__________ per month, paid in biweekly installments. The stipend is intended to cover:

  • Meals (per agreed plan)
  • Utilities and wireless internet
  • Transportation (if included)
  • Basic toiletries
  • Participation in typical family activities

Stipend adjustments or proration may occur if:

  • The student is absent for 30+ consecutive days
  • The student returns home temporarily
  • The host requests early relocation
  • Required check-in reports are not submitted

Taxes: Hosts are responsible for any applicable taxes. Stipends exceeding $600/year will be reported via 1099-MISC.


5. Termination

  • SRS may relocate the student at any time due to safety concerns or policy violations.
  • Hosts may request a student be moved with at least 30 days’ notice. If immediate removal is requested, a $500 relocation fee may be deducted from the final stipend.
  • If the student voluntarily leaves the program, the final stipend will be prorated to the departure date.

6. Agreement & Acknowledgement

By signing below, you acknowledge that:

  • You understand and accept the responsibilities of hosting a minor.
  • You will follow all applicable SRS policies, including the Host Family Code of Conduct and Standards of Student Care.
  • You understand stipend conditions and reporting expectations.
  • You will act in the best interest of the student at all times.
