When do I receive payments?
At StudentRoomStay (SRS), host payments are issued weekly, based on the number of nights your student stayed in your home the previous week.
Here’s exactly how it works:
1. Weekly Schedule
- Payments are processed every Tuesday.
- Each payment covers the prior Friday night through Friday morning (7 nights total).
- You’re paid for actual nights hosted during that period — no advance payments.
Example:
If today is Tuesday, August 12, the payment will cover the period from Friday, August 1 (night) to Friday, August 8 (morning).
If your student arrived Monday, August 4, you’d be paid for 4 nights (Aug 4–8).
2. How Payments Are Delivered
- Payments are sent by direct deposit or your selected payment method.
- Most hosts receive their stipend by end of day Tuesday, but timing may vary depending on your bank.
- Delays may occur around bank holidays or weekends.
3. Tax Info
- Hosts who meet the IRS threshold will receive a Form 1099-NEC from SRS each January for tax reporting purposes.
