Are there rules for the student?

Yes, there are rules from SRS as well as house rules that you will develop for your student.

In addition to the  Host Family Code of Conduct, SRS has a Student Code of Conduct which all students are expected to adhere to. When the student first arrives, you should also review your own house rules with them. You should make sure your student understands and agrees to these rules.
